Crooked Teeth A Fashion Trend
Trends come and go, who has not heard this expression at one time or another. However, we usually mean hair, clothing, and cosmetics. But, I never thought that crooked teeth would be in vogue. We here in America spend an exorbitant amount of money trying to look perfect even down to our teeth. If we have buckteeth or crooked teeth, we try to have them straightened. We are ashamed of our little imperfections. But, apparently in Japan this is not the case. Having slightly crooked teeth is attractive. So much so that, some Japanese women are going to great lengths to obtain this new fashion look. Remember, how we all laughed at Jerry Lewis and his buckteeth antics. “The Nutty Professor” never had it so good. Today he would be a sex symbol.
If you are snaggletooth or double tooth, it goes without saying that you were probably
made fun by your peers as a child. Just think, today, you could move to Japan and find social commradery among kindred spirits. Apparently, Japanese men find this look “yaeba” beautiful because it shows imperfections in the woman. This is a turning out to be a profitable fashion trend for Japanese dentist, who are paid to create crooked teeth. Artificial facings are attached to natural teeth to achieve that special look.
With the bad economy, dentists are probably waiting for this trend to catch on here in America.
For those of you who already have snaggleteeth or fangs keep them. Your ship is about to come in.
